Posted: 2024-09-13 The college football season continues to roll along as we have already reached Week Three. Coming off a tough loss with our system last week, we look for a big bounce back here. We have just the system for a return to the winners column in Week Three. The Troy Trojans are coming off their second consecutive Sun Belt championship season. They have looked nothing like a champion opening with a 0-2 record this season. The only good news is they do not start conference play for a few more weeks. Although the way they are playing right now could spell trouble for them even in conference play. In the Trojans game against Nevada, they allowed 6.3 yards per carry and a total of 214 yards overland. Last week they faced the Memphis Tigers giving up 7.3 yards per carry and 211 total yards rushing. Against the Memphis defense the Trojans offense managed just 251 total yards of offense in the loss. The Trojans troubles get worse this week as they step way up in class as they travel to Iowa City for a Saturday afternoon battle against the host Hawkeyes. This week they face a solid Big 10 defense, and our numbers suggest a very tough afternoon for the Trojans offense. Iowa is coming in off a disappointing home loss to their instate rival the Iowa State Cyclones. Losing on a game winning field goal with six seconds left in the game after leading 13 to 0 at the half. The Hawkeyes will certainly be looking to bounce back here against a struggling Trojans team. Not only are the Trojans facing a motivated Hawkeyes team they are looking down the barrel of an eighty-four percent system that tells us they will not only lose straight up but they will be a double-digit disaster for any of their backers. The most recent games that qualified in our system were exactly that, double-digit disasters. Back in Week Three of 2021 Georgia Southern went on the road to Arkansas where they were +23-point road underdogs and lost 45 to 10. Prior to that the next active date was Week Three of the 2018 season where Georgia State went on the road to Memphis as +29-point road underdogs and lost 59 to 22. We expect a similar performance this week with the Trojans in Iowa City. This week’s NCAA Football System of the Week reads like this. Play AGAINST an SBC road underdog of more than 18 points with less than 13 days rest coming off a non-conference road underdog SU loss versus a non-conference opponent. Playing against these road underdogs has produced a record of 26-0 SU winning by an average of 37.6 points per game and 21-4-1 ATS (84%) covering the spread by an average of 8.2 points per game. With all of the system parameters met this week’s College Football System Play of the Week calls on the Iowa Hawkeyes (-22) to produce another double-digit disaster as they roll past an overmatched Troy Trojans team on Saturday afternoon in Iowa City. PLAY ON THE IOWA HAWKEYES Have a great weekend and as always good luck. Make sure to join us for all our college and pro best bets on Saturday and Sunday at Playbook! |
